Hot Coffee and Cleaning the House….

You are probably asking yourself what have both of those in common… more than you think I say!

I read that there is a new coffee cup out there that can keep a cup of coffee warm for up to 45 minutes and then all you have to do is recharge it via USB and away you go with another cup of warm coffee.

This gadget I see as a real thing for guys, but I think it could be easy to say that the hot coffee cup may peter out after a time because if you only like your coffee hot and the battery only lasts 45 minutes… then what is left over, but a sorry cup of cold coffee and a dead battery, and if you don’t have a USB connection available, then you are “S… out of luck”!!!

With all these modern things around “how has one survived so long using a conventional cup for coffee?” Now that is a question that requires deep thought and scientific research.

But coffee is the essence of life; it tastes good, if made right. And with the right gadgets great coffee is just a step away, so to say and cleaning the house somehow goes hand in hand with a cup of coffee. It is said that guys have to do more house work after they retire from work and so I see a whole new dimension as to how to interest guys to do house work.

There you have it guys (once retired) your heated coffee cup, but wait a minute here! Wasn’t there once the headed coaster thing that you could place your coffee mug on and it would keep you mug of coffee warm for awhile??? Away, these sorts of gadgets are just things guys need to get them interested in the world of housework. Gals put your thinking caps on and get those gadgets out!!

Guys you cans have your robot vacuum cleaner (providing endless hours of entertainment) and maybe could hold a sort of vacuum race with your buddies to see who gets the job done first or who has the coolest dishwasher? Then it’s time for a coffee break and your coffee is still warm in your new heated mug…. Post a couple of messages and take a couple of selfies too. Who said housework has to be dull and boring for guys?

It is just an action packed event and this is all because of the new gadgets around these days. Then when the chores are done inside there’s the robot lawnmower to keep you from getting bored outside the house.

Guys, I could think of thousands of action packed ways for you to get involved in housework and not wait until you retire, because by then the coffee maybe cold, and who wants that?

Sorry No Selfie Today

It was brought to my attention the other day that young people take at least 30 “selfies” of themselves a day. Where do they find the time???

It got me thinking about selfies and if took 30 of myself in a day …. How would I manage?

So, I guess the first one would be when I get-up in the morning….. You probably would have a heart attack if you saw me, so I guess I won’t post one of me getting-up…. Thank goodness you say!!

Selfie number 2: Just showered, wet hair in my old bathrobe and drinking a cup of coffee… Now that is a picture to share with the world…Or???

Selfie number 3: Brushing my teeth and putting my make-up on all at the same time… Now you say: “that is a picture I want to see”!

Selfie number 4: Me doing the dishes before going to work. I bet you never saw anyone doing that before? Or is there someone at your house who does that too?

Selfie number 5: Standing at the bus stop…. Now that could be an action packed photo. I did a background check, my hair is perfect and I look good until the wind comes along right when the picture is being taken…. Who cares … post it anyway! I am at the bus stop

Selfie number 6: (To be honest I am getting tired of taking selfies and I am only at picture number 6) But the day is young and “Selfies” will make my day better…. Hopefully???

Selfie number 7: forgot to take number 6 … we’ll just skip one! Now here I am waiting for the commuter train on the platform with all the other happy commuters…. Don’t you feel that this is a must take picture to show everyone?? I do

Selfie number 8: at the office… in my office wow… This is a cool place a must picture!!! Of course with me in it…

Selfie number 9: Me by the coffee machine at work… Aren’t you impressed??

Selfie number 10: can’t take it, big boss says no!! Party pooper

Selfie number 11: no group picture either. Everyone in the office is too busy to stop for a group Selfie…. Where is the fun here?? This Selfie stuff is turning into a full time job and I am not sure if I have time to do my job now or should I be taking Selfies

Selfie number 12: Me eating my peanut butter and jelly sandwich at my desk…. Now that is something to write home about!

Selfie number 13: Leaving the office for the day… How do you like me waving at you?? Aren’t I just full of original ideas for my Selfies???

Selfie number 14: Me getting a shopping trolley at the grocery store… I bet you never thought that my life was so exciting? Did you????

Selfie number 15: A gallon of milk in my hand… you never knew that was what a gallon of milk looked like before??? Well, if you didn’t now you know.

Selfie number 16- 29: requires too much energy on my part and the battery is getting low on my Smartphone.

Selfie number 30: in the kitchen again… where I was this morning only now making dinner…. I hope everyone is hungry and likes what I am cooking?

Sorry no more selfies today!

Oh no …My battery is low!!!

Yes, it is so that my battery is low and now that little icon on my Smartphone is glowing red , and telling me that I will be cut-off from the world any minute now… I could scream; but that won’t help me!
None of my friends or so called friends can reach me or I cannot check what is going on, on all the social networks that I need to be connected with…. A life without conductivity, and this all because my battery has no more charge in it!!!

I guess those are the perils of the modern world and its electrical devices.

Now what?? … No problem, I will turn on my tablet computer that I have with me. Just turn it on and “Bingo” I am connected to the world. Thank goodness I buy all these devices or my life would be” un-plugged” from the world, and that I do not want!!!
Just imagine gals there are the latest fashions being posted somewhere and your battery is low… That would just throw my life into a tizzy or for those of you guys who are fans of cars or such… the same no conductivity or battery then you are out and old fashioned as if you were born in the 18th century!

No Smartphone with a charged battery is like starting your day without a healthy breakfast. Now who would want to leave the house with that thought in mind??? Not me honey!!

But, back to the battery problem… I thought ok, go to a café buy a coffee and use one of their electrical sockets to charge up my battery. A really great idea or so I thought. There are hundreds of cafes around but I chose the one I always go to. Open the door and walk in and before my eyes the whole city must have been there having the same problem I was having… My battery needs charging
.
Ok, it isn’t such a problem. The weather is ok and so I can walk another block to the next café. Again the same problem but this time people were standing in line to sit down… What is the world coming to I ask??? I will not give-up and think “now where should I go?” NO, problem, there is a nice quiet place 3 blocks from here. I hope it doesn’t rain, because the sky is turning a bit overcast.

Now as I walk along my tablet signals me that its battery is low too and its icon is glowing red as a tomato…. Great !!! I do feel a slight panic attack coming on with the thought of absolutely no more connection to the outer world now… Why me; do all these electrical devices hate me?? Am I alone with this problem or are there other people in the world that experiences this too???

I made it now to the café sure there are plenty of place to sit but all the ones with electrical sockets are taken. I am not going to give up now that socket is only a table away. I sit down and order a coffee but I have sat at a table where I can spring right over to the table next to me once the guy is finished and leaves. I think he knows what I want and so he is lingering a bit longer there over his coffee to make me suffer. His look on his face says “I know that you want to charge your Smartphone”…. I just smile at him and hope that my smile can persuade him to leave quicker or let me sit at his table. No luck with either thought!!

So, I decide to take the old fashioned newspaper in my hand and start reading it. I must say it was enjoyable. The feeling of having that paper in my hand reading all those articles and ads; It was like rediscovering life again and relaxing – it was just to sit back and read and get lost in the pages of time!

I never got to recharge my battery because I was too busy reading a paper newspaper, but I can say I really enjoyed it and can recommend doing it.

So next time your battery is low; no worries a newspaper can be a great thing to rediscover!

I thank all those newspaper people out there who printout the paper edition of the newspaper… You have gained a new reader… ME!!
