Easter Again

Just waiting around the corner for us „ Easter“ , yes those couple of days off and time to eat more chocolate and enjoy what is in store for us. You probably know that I never really did the Detox diet and now there is the problem with Easter…… The time itself isn’t a problem but all that chocolate out there trying to get my attention when I walk into a store and it is screaming out at me “buy me”….

There seems to be chocolate Easter bunnies lurking in every corner of every store and they seem to follow my around the store too…. Hopefully I won’t have a chocolate bunny nightmare!!! OMG….. The thought of “CHOCOLATE EASTER BUNNIES INVADE LOCAL STORE” … Now that’s a headline!!
But my worries are that there may not be an after Easter diet like there is for other times of the year. This I see as a major problem. Not that I am on a diet or dieting, it is just the fact that I want to look at all those glossy magazine covers and see what the latest dieting fads are, and all I see now is recipes for Easter brunch , cook a great meal for a crowd( okay with a crowd…… Sorry folks my place isn’t big enough for everyone, maybe next time).
What am I going to cook and is it going to look like what I see in those magazines….

Nothing could be worse than…. Just imagine: nothing looks like the pictures; then what…. Okay, thank goodness I saved the magazines. All I have to do is cut out the pictures of the dishes and then place them next to the dish that I cooked, so that if anyone isn’t sure what it should look like all they have to do is look at the picture I cut out and placed next to the food…. Problem solved and everyone is happy or at least I hope so?????
Oh and not to forget the right table deco stuff too… There I need to invest about $500, 00 to have my table look like in the magazine and everything looks so perfect too. If my table looked like that I wouldn’t let anyone touch anything, and say to everyone “You can look at the deco and take pictures & selfies too if you like, but please don’t touch anything”. I know it doesn’t sound very nice but with all the effort and money I would invest, I don’t want my Easter event to be spoiled by one of my friends getting the idea that they can sit at the table and enjoy what they are seeing. NO it will be a simple eat in the kitchen affair and the dining room will be corded off to visitors…. You know sort of like in a museum.
Thank goodness that idea is taken care of, because I have sooooo much to prepare for Easter and so, I am sorry to say I have to stop writing here and leaf through all the magazines to decide what to do and what to eat on Easter and this alone requires a lot of time, even though I know the Easter stuff has been in all the stores since after Christmas….

I am a last minute Easter person, but don’t tell my friends! Thanks and don’t forget to plan your Easter too!

The Chocolate Bunny

An older post but I still like it even today with the memories of Easter.

It was brought to my attention that Easter is just around the corner and hopefully the Easter bunny will find his way to my place with his GPS tracking system.

I can remember when I was a kid that was a great time of year and I believed that the Easter bunny visited our house not like kids now-a-days not believing in anything. And if the weather was warm enough we could search for Easter eggs outside; though I did have to be pretty fast because if I wasn’t our dog Cesar would find the chocolate eggs before me and eat them paper and all. The amazing part was that Cesar never got sick from eating so much chocolate with paper and if he did I never noticed it.

But I can remember one Easter that was really cold and the snow was still on the ground so that meant…

Time For A Change

Four great words that we hear a lot nowadays, but who really changes???? Change can be so many things and what should change is always a question that requires a bit of thought before one changes…

Now with spring just waiting out there somewhere for us and all the Easter decorations are now being sold in the stores it can mean only one thing… spring is on its way and now it is time to start with the spring cleaning or at least the idea is good…
I have been thinking about the topic of spring cleaning and changing things around maybe or throwing some of my unwanted treasures out that you can barely see because they are hidden under an inch of dust…

Now that is something we collect whether we like it or not… our friend “DUST” and it seems that everyone collects it too and it is not just something that a certain group of people have either…. Dust sort of gives us all something in common; even if you don’t want to admit it!

Because I bet you have dust at your house too, just like I do!

I find nobody ever takes the time to think about that inch of dust that has accumulated on their books or nick-knacks and if dust could talk I am sure it could tell us some really interesting tales too. As dust is always presented as something that you must hate and always try to tackle it with the latest cleaning gadget or duster or whatever… Dust has turned into one of the most hated things in our households….

I dislike dust too just like the next person but I will not let it get the best of me either…. So, that means making some changes, but what do I change and what do I throw-out??? All that stuff even if it is a dust collector has great memories attached to it, and it is so hard to part with those loving memories… I feel like if I throw those dust collectors out I am throwing a part of myself away and that I can’t do… But it is time for a change. Yes, the change will be that I will dust and so then I can see what is under the dust. And after I can see what was hidden under the layer of dust then I won’t want to change.

I notice on TV that every house they show has no dust in it and wonder how do they manage that??? Do they have a team of people on call to tackle the dust right away as soon as it is seen???? Or the neighborhoods shown on TV too that are all shiny – do they have a dust patrol just waiting for dust and then go after it before it gets a chance to settle on something??? What happened to having something in common with other people…. DUST

I bought one of those things the other day that you can run over the table or such and the dust will stick to it like a magnet… Well, I guess after awhile the magnet part said the heck with it and seemed to let the dust lay there or just seems to make it move to another section on the bookcase… I guess dust just likes my house, so I will have to think of another change as to how to say good-bye to the winter dust and welcome the spring dust…. Always questions that need to be answered

Enjoy dusting !

Nail polish and Names

I just read that the names of some nail polishes aren’t gal friendly. To be honest I never paid much attention to that before. I just went into the store picked out a color that I liked or thought would fit to the outfit I was wearing and bought it….. Never ever thinking about the name…. How could I be so thoughtless?? I guess maybe it comes with age…
And because I have nothing better to do on “Good Friday” then check out my nail polish…. Great way to kill time if there’s nothing else to do around the house or not in the mood for house work!

The names on the bottles are great and I would never in my entire life associate them with the color.

540 – Poetic: what is poetic about that?? I haven’t figured it out yet. The number or is the name to make me feel once I have applied the polish to my nails I will feel like everything will just be …lalala

270-hot shot: That’s pretty clear – bright color and I feel cool…. As long as the polish doesn’t chip in the course of the day, otherwise I don’t feel like such a” hot shot”.

142- Grey to be here- defiantly a color for when you’re not in such a good mood…. World watch out because my nails are telling you something that you don’t know!!!!

26- Pink passion – watch out!!! Now I know I look good when wearing this color and my guy just knows by the name on the bottle that “ romance “ could be just around the corner… AFTER my nails dry!

780- Crazy about green: Happy Easter!!! No more snow

106 – Free hugs – Great name but sorry folks… I do not hug strangers!!

660 – Pink it up – Ok…. It’s pink and my nails look gooooood!

But then there are the colors that are just numbers…. OK …. Boring! I am wearing number 22 on my nails today and what number do you have on today? Doesn’t sound too good and makes life boring!

Then there’s the great top coat to protect your nails from…. Good question or the base coat… all these sound like something that you would paint a piece of wood with and not my nails. But maybe no one has ever looked at it like that before… Any answers

So enjoy your nail polish no matter what the name of it is and have a great Easter!

The Chocolate Bunny

But I can remember one Easter that was really cold and the snow was still on the ground so that meant no looking for chocolate eggs outside. But that didn’t dampen my spirits because I knew the Easter bunny would come to my house and hide some chocolate eggs anyways.

Like always I got up early hoping to get a glimpse of the Easter bunny but no luck. The Easter bunny was like Santa Claus you never saw either of them but they always left you something great!

Well, on this cold Easter Sunday I thought I found all the small chocolate eggs and was enjoying myself eating them before breakfast. As they always said “start the day off right with a nutritious breakfast.” Well I was!!!

Anyways, the day went on and was over and Monday arrived. My parents never notice that I never found the large chocolate Easter bunny nor did I know anything about it. And since it was Monday my mom like always washed the cloths and once the washing machine was finished threw all the cloths into the wonderful dryer and you guessed it -> my chocolate Easter bunny was hidden in the dryer…

The kitchen seemed to fill-up with the lovely smell of melting chocolate and at first I thought “WOW, mom’s baking something” but quickly realized that wasn’t so. But I could still smell chocolate. My mom came into the kitchen and asked me what I was up to? I told her that I thought she was baking cookies but she said no and that I shouldn’t be in the kitchen.

I didn’t give-up so fast and asked what are you baking because it smells so good and then it dawned on my mom and she asked me “ Did you eat your large chocolate Easter bunny?” I said: No, I didn’t know the Easter bunny brought me one. My mom turned white as a sheet and opened the dryer to see all the freshly washed laundry covered in chocolate. I was devastated when I saw that and asked my mom why did the Easter bunny put my chocolate bunny in the dryer?

My poor mom was speechless but came up with a quick answer saying that the Easter bunny was afraid of Cesar and was worried that he would eat the chocolate bunny.
I was young enough to believe the story but my poor mom had to rewash all the cloths and scrape all the chocolate out of the dryer and never again was a chocolate bunny hidden in the dryer.
