New Hair Style ..New Bad Hair Day!

I recently went and had had my hair cut to bring me into the feeling that spring is coming and the warmer days are just on the horizon…… or so I thought????

I made my appointment and had the usual consultation as to which hair cut suits me best…. In my opinion they all would look good on me( I want to be a goddess with my new hair style!!) , but the stylist told me based on the shape of my face I should choose another one and not the cool looking style that I saw in a fashion magazine….. I guess looking cool is out for me (Forget my goddess look then!!) and a simple easy to manage style is better. And to be honest it should be….Right???

There I sat enjoying having someone wash my hair and cut it into my dream easy to manage great looking new style… I am not exaggerating with the words that I am using here… The “easy to manage great looking new style” were the words the stylist used. After I heard those words a little alarm bell went off in my brain warning me…. That this hair cut won’t be easy to manage and will I really look great???? The questions surmounted in my brain….

After what seemed to be an eternity with the cutting and then showing me how easy it will be to blow dry my hair and style it once I am back home… Life couldn’t have been better!!

Plus, all the products you need to keep the hair styled like it was cost me a fortune… But I wanted to look like the goddess of spring with my new hair cut!! So, hey what is spending a small fortune on my looks????

After leaving the salon; I felt like a million dollars and looked it too (at least in my eyes..) , and the amount of hairspray, styling gel and so forth that was in my hair, I knew my new look could withstand hurricane force winds and not have a hair out of place! World here I come….

But I knew I would have to wash my hair and style it myself when I was at home, but with all the stuff I had bought to create this look I knew that I would be able to get this look again in about 15 minutes tops and ready for the day then….. All I can say is that that was a dream and it only lasted until I started to blow dry my hair!!

There I was freshly showered with damp hair just waiting to be styled… I got out all the stuff I needed, blow dryer, brushes, gels and mousses, and so on. Now I could start!!

After applying all the hair styling products it was now just minutes away before the perfect look would be created….Dream on is all I can say!!!

Somehow, once I started to dry my hair I noticed that I didn’t have enough hands to hold the brush(s), hold the other strands of hair and operate the blow dryer… Then to top it off; which made matters worse I got my hair tangled up in the brush, and the gel in my hair was turning sticky in spots because I wasn’t working fast enough ( believe me; I said something that I will not repeat here)…

I thought then and there that I should have four hands instead of two for styling my hair or a home stylist who comes to my place each morning to give me the same look that I had when I left the hair stylist… I am sure some of you gals out there know exactly what I mean here????

The stylist presented it as if it was so easy to create alone at home, but I never thought about the fact that she was styling my hair and that at home I have to do the whole job myself… This thought is really upsetting to me now!

My cool new hair cut and style that could withstand a hurricane is now demoted to a style that has a little volume and is not weather resistant… So much for my spring time goddess look!!

I hope you aren’t having a bad hair day today?

Guys and Gals Are We Looking Good?

Everyone knows that looking good is really important but I bet you never thought about what that guy or gal thinks about what you are wearing. Now this tiny fact seems to be overlooked and so I thought I would highlight and interpret some of the great fashion looks that drive the other person to look at you….. Well, how to put it nicely???? Thinks what you have on is simply ugly…. But do they say that to your face or just keep their opinion to themselves???

As I am in a mood today…Good mood 😉 so I thought I would start with the blunders of what guys wear.

Spray-on suntans – Oh, please. Those look really bad or are they trying to look like a pumpkin… the color isn’t too far off.

Trousers from …. What year was it with the elastic ankles? Great if you are living where there are a lot of flies say in the Tundra or such an area but otherwise… Naja, they really don’t do anything for the wearer… Sorry

Jeans that look like you are carrying your toilet round with you. They are sooooo baggy that it looks like the wearer has a diaper on… Please, guys there are nicer jeans around then those.

The tourist looks … What you ask??? Socks with sandals… That is like wearing a sign around your neck saying “Hey I am on vacation here”! Clean your toe nails and wear real sandals, because it looks a lot better.

Naturally there are a couple of more but, I thought you could think about them yourself without my help here..

Now gals, I don’t want to leave us out here either in the not looking good club.

Now a real mistake is chipped nail polish or is that a new fashion statement. It only takes a couple of minutes to remove the chipped polish and … Bingo your nails look better.

Hair extensions that are made of plastic hair… look cheap and are cheap. Wouldn’t it be better to just leave your hair the way it is and plus then you can save your money for a real new hair cut that looks good.

Track suits… once they were only worn at the gym or at home, but now…. They are everywhere. What happened to our sense of fashion???

The real disaster…. Smudged mascara and make-up…. Oh, now that really doesn’t do anything for your looks does it???

I have taken heed since I noted these things and promised myself to watch out about how I look… I don’t want to land up in a bad fashion & bad hair category nor do I want my guy to land there either. Oh the perils of wanting to look good!

Fashion for the Fashionable

I would love to be fashionable. All I read lately is about the latest fashion trends how I should dress what I should buy and which make-up I should use…. Boy is it stressful being a woman just trying to keep-up with all this stuff, and where do I start first??? Hair, clothing or make-up… I am confused and need help! Plus to top things off there is the desk stationary that I need too for my office to match my mood or what I am wearing. Could life be more complicated????

Ok, I know I don’t visit all those fashion shows; I see enough of them on TV or you can read about it somewhere, so I know I won’t be left behind in the fashion jungle… Those models out there make me feel like I look like a whale. There is no way on earth that I will ever be able to fit into one of those slinky little dresses or teeter along the street in those high heels. Who wears that stuff??? I have never in my whole life up to now ever seen anyone wearing any of those outfits whether at a party or to work. They must be somewhere out there hiding from me… But where???

Now that fall/ autumn is approaching at the speed of light, there’s the need for the new fall hair cut… But which one?? I just had a summer hair cut and that was in then and my hair doesn’t grow that fast for the next season’s hair cut.. I’ll fall into the bad hair cut group of people … Last season’s hair cut.. OUTCH !! Hairdressers please be patient with us our hair takes time to grow.

Then there’s the right color of clothes to choose from that HOPEFULLY will be in for at least a month. The color pink was mention… I love pink but is that the right color for me and will it be out again at the end of the month before I even get a chance to get used to my new look??? Buying the wrong colored clothes may end in a disaster, because I don’t know what color will be in in October… Going to the office with the wrong colored outfit on will defiantly not get me a seat on the board of directors, but instead a little note saying” this month is not a pink month!” The trials and trivia of trying to keep-up with the fashion of today. Ohje

Not just that’s a problem to make sure I am wearing the right hat on my head too that I hope won’t ruin my summer haircut… Now what color do I buy and it must match my new fall coat… do I want to stand-out in a crowd or do I want a subdued color that signifies fall ??? I need help!!!

So far I seem to be having difficulties in deciding what to wear and how I should look, but thanks to all the advice out there I know what make-up to buy. Now if it matches my skin tone that’s another story but at least I can say I bought what is in for the fall season, and another little problem arises here too. Everything is sold in tubes that contain enough make-up for a year… Now what?? I can’t wear the September colored blusher in October. Everyone will notice it right away…

And all the beauty tips they seem to change from month to month too. Which tip do I use or where to I turn to for the right beauty tip of the month?? This is all so confusing. HELP!!

My final little problem is what stationary – what seasonal color should I have on my desk and do I need a pen that has ink in it with fall colors and if I send out something on the wrong colored stationary am I doomed as not having a fashionable desk?

Please everyone be patient with me when it comes to fashion trends; I just can’t keep up with them fast enough, So if we meet on the street don’t be surprised if I am wearing a color from last month and my hair cut is from the summer and my make-up isn’t the latest color either… that’s how life really is!!!
