Health Today

Yes, indeed health today isn’t like it used to be, as I have noticed while glancing at the online pages of newspapers and the sections about health………. Could be worrying actually, but I find it more like where do they find all that stuff?????

Most of it is old stuff trying to make it look modern in our digital world.

There is the article about kissing and what kind of kisser the person is…….. very important… but I wonder do you have to ask the person first to fill out a questionnaire and they check off how they see themselves as a kisser and then you can decide if you want to kiss them or is it….. You kiss and then each of you get your guidebook out and analyze how each other kiss and then take it from there… What amazing stuff!!!
How did I ever manage in my younger years without such booklets??? No one had a guidebook back then to tell us the right way to kiss or what the meaning of the kiss meant… You either like kissing the person or not. Simple as that!!

But there are serious topics too like a foggy brain and how to clear out the clutter…. I guess it is like cleaning out the attic on the weekend…. Sit down note that toooooo much info is floating around in your brain and then sorting out the bits and pieces of irrelevant information. Maybe like deleting stuff from your hard drive on your computer???
This got me thinking and I am not too sure how I can figure out if my brain is storing too much information, though maybe forgetfulness is the signal that says “ Hey, too much useless info in your brain, time to sort out.” Even with that thought …. What do I sort out??? I may need that bit of information at a later date and when I do and there is no internet connection…. Then what???
I would wish that I never sorted out that piece of information. Maybe, I can get a sort of external hard-drive to save the excess information for when I need it…. HUM, but then again I may collect to much new information and then the fogginess starts again… one endless circle that seems to never end….

Then there is eating your vegetables that are good for you….. Sort of like when you were a kid and mom would say “eat your carrots there good for your eyesight” or “eat your spinach so you will grow big and strong” …. Now all is written, saying the same thing that I have known since I was a kid….. Have modern moms forgotten about what their moms said about veggies?? I can remember those days with my mom saying those sentences and sitting there shoving the vegetables around the plate until they were cold and tasteless and still having to eat them because they were good for me…. I thought my mom was super strict when it came to veggies and other times cool….
But I guess now when I look back at it she knew what she was talking about…. Thanks mom! And that she knew that even when there were no computers too……… That is truly something!!!

As for health today… Take care of yourself, sort out your brain, eat all your vegetables and don’t forget your kissing guidebook before you make that next kiss……….

Multi Tasking Catastrophe

My day is now ruined by the multi tasking news report that men are better at it than us gals….. I’m sunk!! Whoever would have dreamed that guys would overtake us gals at our favorite thing – multi tasking?

Well, I surely never dreamed that the day would come when it would be announced that guys are better than us gals at multitasking. I have been multitasking for years with the household and at work and wherever else I need too. Have guys been secretly taking notes so that they can copy the way we manage our time by doing a couple of things at once????

I bet I know how it started… at least in my house. My guy is hiding behind the newspaper pretending that he is reading it and saying to me when I ask him “can you help me?” , but what do/did I hear “sorry, honey I’m busy reading the newspaper.” Right, now I know he was there taking notes studying the way I multitasked around the house and now after a couple of years has collected enough information to be able to multitask better than me.

Ok, this does not hold true around our place and I would guess he will be multitasking out in the garage- fiddling around with the car drinking a beer and chatting with one of his buddies…. Multitasking at its finest – Right guys???? Whereas, I am cleaning the house loading the washing machine and then the dishwasher… as my guy would say you are better at multitasking in the house then I am!!!

Now the work issue of multitasking could be that my guy coworkers have been taking notes too to try to figure out just how do we gals multitask at work… though multitasking at work isn’t always a good idea, if you ask me because you may not always accomplish what you want to and it may be be counterproductive too. Then again what is multitasking at work?? Talking on the phone and drinking a coffee or is it being in a boring meeting and listening to the chair speaking and you are playing with your cell phone??? Multitasking at work takes on many forms when I look around my office and so I think I better keep on my toes so that you guys don’t win the multitasking award of 2012 at our office.

I think I will look into this guy thing that guys can multitask better than us gals this weekend because I as a gal do not want to lose the reputation of not being able to multitask …. I could cry at the thought… though my guy could take over my multitasking at home and I could then spend some more time multitasking with my friends over a coffee and a good chat.

Enjoy your multitasking !!!

My life’s an app

Remember the days when you used to use your brain to think and answer questions when someone asked you something, and now-a-days the brain seems to be a stagnating mass within your head.

I can remember when you read something about something and actually remembered it or if you didn’t you could look it up in an encyclopedia and there you found the answer to your question and all this without an app.

I think back and ask myself: “How did I ever manage to get through my day without an app?” And the funny thing is I am still here and my brain still works without an app and I can remember information. I do not want to get addicted to an app. What happens if it is wrong? Then what do I do? Has anyone thought about that or are they trying to invent an app for that?

The other day at work we got talking about the world and stuff like that and one of my colleagues asked me what the longest river in the world was. ( I knew they wanted to see if I could manage without an app.)I answered without hesitating – the Nile and 2nd is the Amazon and 3rd is the Mississippi. Of course no one believed me and they said “well let me check this out because I have an app that will give us the answer.” I thought to myself “ok”.
Well low and behold I was right and I knew this and the information came directly from my brain cells. Amazing things brain cells. Those babies can really remember things and process information and help you with all sorts of things and this all without an app!

Sorry, got side tracked there with my brain cells. My colleagues then asked me another question and I was right again and then they got a bit sarcastic and said that I must sit home every evening and read up on such stuff. I had to laugh at that and said they maybe should read something and not always be dependent on an app.

Everywhere you turn there are these bloody things.

Apps for weather – as if I can’t look out the window and see if it’s raining or not.

Apps for your wardrobe – it’s a sad day when I can’t figure out what to wear from the clothes that I have hung in my closet.

Apps for a coffee shop – what happened to asking someone where a good coffee shop is? An app can’t know this or do apps drink coffee secretly?

Apps to locate you – I don’t want everyone to know when I am sitting on the throne or is that important information for everyone?

And those are just a few. I could write a list that would be endless and that I don’t want to do.

I was actually thinking about creating a group called “ I want to keep my brain and not let it turn into an app.” Though I don’t think that many people would be interested in my group because everyone is busy with their apps trying to find out about the group and then only to disappointed by saying that this group doesn’t have an app and that we use our brains and communicate with each other the old-fashioned way by talking to each other (those were the days!).

Try going through your day without an app and I bet you can have some fun.
