Wonderful Weekdays

Week days come and go but isn’t each day a special day in the week and not just a name? Well, I think so. Even if you didn’t ask me.

Days come and go the same as weeks and years. A week has just about ended and we are almost at the end of the second month in 2015…. But what about those days of the week that come and go and we only remember that it was one of those days…. Or was it a special day??? It could have been but no one noticed it. There seems to be a day for everything thing nowadays and I just can’t seem to keep up with them all… I have a good memory (My brain is still working….. Thank goodness!! I was getting a bit worried) But do I really need to know all those days???

Years ago there weren’t so many just the usual ones and that was it. Normally for some famous person or such. Now there is the coffee day, dog day, and so forth… My list could be from my house and probably span around the globe if I looked up what each day stood for…. To be honest I won’t; I’ll leave that job for someone else to do. Thank you, and when you are finished please let me know the exact number.

I have taken this issue to another dimension because the thought started the other day while I was at the office and contemplating …. I love to do that (but don’t tell anyone!!). There are seven days in the week, maybe there should be more, but I am happy with seven. If you want more days please do not complain to me about it because it isn’t my department….. Go to the – I need more days department where whoever is in charge may be able to help you. Though I do have my doubts about that!!!

Days could be like this:

Serious Saturdays – I mean really I am always serious on this day, no monkeying around just serious housework (that I dislike doing…. And maybe some of you out there too feel the same way I do???)This is a job that has to be tackled with the seriousness of being well organized and scheduled. Which means do not bother me until my multi-organized household chore schedule has been completed…. How quick I am depends on who phones first and where should we meet-up for a cup of coffee…. Plus, what do I want to clean today??? Always a somewhat moving question that boggles my brain each time I ask myself that question…. Though sometimes, I do have to be careful that I don’t argue with myself about what I should do first. The problems of serious Saturdays.

Sentimental Sundays – Sundays seem to be a great day to be sentimental; you can sit back and take it easy and reminisce about all sorts of things and dream about the good’ol days or something else that occupies your mind and just let your thoughts wander to all those pleasant times that took place in your life. A must in my book… we need some pleasantries in our life and not always worries, so maybe being sentimental could help. There are so many pleasant things that have happened in my life and they are great to think about and always bring a smile to my face…

Mellow Mondays – Oh, the beginning of the week again and I have to go to the office… Mondays are a day where thoughts should be collected, strategies may be planned and so forth… being concentrated and mellow makes it so much easier to deal with all that stuff instead of panicking because it is Monday. Mondays have been around for years and will be, so why not take the day in stride instead of dreading it????

Tension on Tuesdays – The week is here and now I really need to start working… getting those emails answered, writing that report… the deadline is approaching and I still have to attend a meeting… that does put a bit of tension in the day, but hey it is Tuesday and it is a day when tension is in the air.

Working Wednesdays – This is a day that one should be the most productive… At least that is what I read once. Though to be honest I am a bit skeptical about that theory. I work on all the other days too. I know there are the scales to assess how much you have achieved and how productive a person is…. Actually, I recently tried the email theory… only answer emails once every 3 or 4 hours….. Well, believe me if you want stress in your life do that!!!!! Those folks who sent me emails wanted answers and not wait half a day for a reply…. Sorry, but that theory does not work in my job!!

Tempting Thursdays – Now Thursdays are actually the day to prepare for the weekend, because everywhere you can read about what is going on where you live, etc…. That alone always makes me start thinking about what should I do on the weekend??? It can be so tempting…. Shopping (a gals favorite pastime), a movie, meet friends, or watch TV…. I have to decide today before it is too late and all the options to do something are not there anymore tomorrow…… Look out world … I am going to plan something for the weekend !!!!!

Frustrating Fridays – A day of deadlines and I hope that everyone else in the office has met the deadline too, or else S… will hit the fan and I do not want to be party to that event! I know some people enjoy that sort of thing but not me…. It seems like lots of people are frustrated on Fridays not only because of work… I believe it is a lack of planning that they could have done on Temping Thursdays that would have avoided the frustration on Fridays.

Whatever day it is make the best of it and enjoy it!

I Forgot My Phone

The worst thing has happened to me today that could make my life come to an end…. What you ask??? I forgot my cell phone at home and I was exposed to the world as it was years ago. A scary experience to say the least!

But thank goodness that my brain still works and I could remember all the important telephone numbers. Ok, I’ll admit I had a tad of a problem with some email addresses but then after about 20 minutes they finally dawned on me… What a relief!!!

And I must say “Thank you brain.” My faithful companion that has been with me for years!

Though most people I met throughout the day could not fathom how I managed to survive and acted as if that was the mortal end of life because I forgot my cell phone at home….. How could I do that???? To be honest I almost gave myself a heart attack when I noticed that my trusty cell phone wasn’t there in my handbag and I knew that I had forgotten my faithful companion at home on the counter….. There all by its self on the counter ringing away and no one was there to answer it… I was rather thoughtless forgetting my beloved cell phone! Wasn’t I?

But once I was able to pull myself together; I thought ok, if you want to speak to me you can call my office number – so use it!

Somehow my lunch was enjoyable without that menacing thing there hanging around my neck (literal sense). I was really free to eat and chat without having the feeling I need to look at the screen of my dumb phone. How wonderful life can be!!!

Later on at a meeting…. Note: I was on time!!! This happened without being reminded by my cell phone… The wonders of my brain!

Ok, like always there is someone there whose humor isn’t how I see things and said to me “How did you remember the meeting without being reminded by your cell phone?” At first I would have liked to punch the guy – but I thought the better of it. I thought to myself that was a sad and stupid question, because isn’t that why we have a brain to remember things with??? Or has it been replaced by the cell phone??

A very interesting question indeed……

But now my day has come to an end and now at home I see my faithful cell phone just blinking away waiting patiently for me to pick it up and see who called. So, If I missed your call today sorry!

Men and skin problems

While reading the Sunday newspaper I came across a frightening article about men’s skin and stress. I knew right way from the headline that this is a must read and so took that section of the paper into my private library to read because this article required my full attention and I didn’t want to miss out on any important information.

The article mentioned that men’s skin can have very stressful days and this leaves it mark on men’s skin. This I must say got me really thinking about my partner’s skin and I started to worry about him. I hope he is ok? And the article went on to say that with a special treatment and naturally the right skin creams these signs would disappear and that the man would have vibrant looking skin. I asked myself “ What does vibrant looking skin look like when a guy is older?” Can anyone answer this question for me?

After I finished reading the article my partner asked me where was I for sooo long? I answered by saying” I was reading a very interesting article about men’s skin” and my partner just looked at me as if to say: “typical woman!”

I think guys just don’t understand how serious this problem is and if it isn’t taken care of it could spread like a bush fire and be out of control and then who knows what they would look like then. The thought of waking up in the morning next to a guy who hasn’t taken the necessary steps to prevent stressed-out skin would probably give me a heart attack. I mean just image gals you are asleep and the alarm clock rings and you roll over to face your partner and what happens -> dried out stressed skin looks you directly in the face. I could cringe at the thought!!!!

Normally on Sunday’s my partner takes a afternoon nap on the couch and I thought this is my chance to really check out his skin. I knew we owned a magnify glass but just had to find it. After about 30 minutes I found it hidden under some junk in the junk drawer (you know we all have one of these where you put stuff that you may use once every 10 years.)

Anyways, once I found it I noticed he was sound asleep, so now was my chance. Since he was lying on his back it made things easier for me. I took the magnifying glass and started to carefully look at his skin and was shocked at what I saw! I couldn’t believe my eyes-> there written on his face in tiny letters were the words: “stressed-out skin” and this was written all over his face and then I thought should I wake him up or let him sleep? I was really scared now!
But somehow he must of sensed that I was there and woke up and gave me a dirty looked and ask: “What are you doing with the magnify glass?” I answered by saying: “ I was looking at your skin to see if it is stressed –out” and I told him what I found written on his face.

He then said to me “don’t you have anything better to do with your time?” I thought this is something really important and he thinks that I am wasting time. Typical guy I thought!
After he cooled off I explained to him what I found and then I caught him later on in the evening checking himself out with the magnify glass in the bathroom. He came out pale faced and said to me that I was right. He then and there decided that he must buy some cream tomorrow and go to a spa for a facial because if he didn’t his skin would look stressed-out.

I hope he will manage through the day tomorrow with the stressed-out skin not that it affects his working performance because he has an important meeting with some other people. But then again if it is a group of male business men then maybe they could exchange tips on how to keep their skin looking good -> now this would be a good reason for them all to meet-up again next week too and make a presentation about how they tackle this problem using pie charts and diagrams.

So men please remember don’t forget to take care of your skin because stressed-out skin my lead to a stressed-out life.
