Fashion for the Fashionable

I would love to be fashionable. All I read lately is about the latest fashion trends how I should dress what I should buy and which make-up I should use…. Boy is it stressful being a woman just trying to keep-up with all this stuff, and where do I start first??? Hair, clothing or make-up… I am confused and need help! Plus to top things off there is the desk stationary that I need too for my office to match my mood or what I am wearing. Could life be more complicated????

Ok, I know I don’t visit all those fashion shows; I see enough of them on TV or you can read about it somewhere, so I know I won’t be left behind in the fashion jungle… Those models out there make me feel like I look like a whale. There is no way on earth that I will ever be able to fit into one of those slinky little dresses or teeter along the street in those high heels. Who wears that stuff??? I have never in my whole life up to now ever seen anyone wearing any of those outfits whether at a party or to work. They must be somewhere out there hiding from me… But where???

Now that fall/ autumn is approaching at the speed of light, there’s the need for the new fall hair cut… But which one?? I just had a summer hair cut and that was in then and my hair doesn’t grow that fast for the next season’s hair cut.. I’ll fall into the bad hair cut group of people … Last season’s hair cut.. OUTCH !! Hairdressers please be patient with us our hair takes time to grow.

Then there’s the right color of clothes to choose from that HOPEFULLY will be in for at least a month. The color pink was mention… I love pink but is that the right color for me and will it be out again at the end of the month before I even get a chance to get used to my new look??? Buying the wrong colored clothes may end in a disaster, because I don’t know what color will be in in October… Going to the office with the wrong colored outfit on will defiantly not get me a seat on the board of directors, but instead a little note saying” this month is not a pink month!” The trials and trivia of trying to keep-up with the fashion of today. Ohje

Not just that’s a problem to make sure I am wearing the right hat on my head too that I hope won’t ruin my summer haircut… Now what color do I buy and it must match my new fall coat… do I want to stand-out in a crowd or do I want a subdued color that signifies fall ??? I need help!!!

So far I seem to be having difficulties in deciding what to wear and how I should look, but thanks to all the advice out there I know what make-up to buy. Now if it matches my skin tone that’s another story but at least I can say I bought what is in for the fall season, and another little problem arises here too. Everything is sold in tubes that contain enough make-up for a year… Now what?? I can’t wear the September colored blusher in October. Everyone will notice it right away…

And all the beauty tips they seem to change from month to month too. Which tip do I use or where to I turn to for the right beauty tip of the month?? This is all so confusing. HELP!!

My final little problem is what stationary – what seasonal color should I have on my desk and do I need a pen that has ink in it with fall colors and if I send out something on the wrong colored stationary am I doomed as not having a fashionable desk?

Please everyone be patient with me when it comes to fashion trends; I just can’t keep up with them fast enough, So if we meet on the street don’t be surprised if I am wearing a color from last month and my hair cut is from the summer and my make-up isn’t the latest color either… that’s how life really is!!!

What month is it?

What month is it is a good question? It’s only the beginning of September and there are already Christmas cookies and the lot in grocery stores.  Some retailers have lost track of time again and are trying to push us into the Christmas season whether we like it or not.

What happened to Halloween or Thanksgiving? Or have the just been erased from the calendar and we jump right to Christmas regardless of what calendar month it is?

I am a person who likes Christmas cookies and candy when the Christmas season is really there. And what about toddlers or small kids who may still believe in Santa Claus and then they go to the grocery store with their parents and see Christmas cookies and the lot.  I would think the poor kids get confused and then their parents have to think of something to say to calm the child down and convince them that they have to wait a couple of months before the jolly old man in the red suit comes down the chimney.

Though I guess in this fast paced world things have to go faster, seasons fly by in a blink of the eye and the year goes by in 2 weeks……  There seems to be a lack of enjoying each season as it comes and so everything is going faster and faster. When is this acceleration of seasons going to stop? Life now-a-days is so fast paced that you have no time to really enjoy the seasons and the celebrations like in the past.

I can see it now in September:

  1. Buy my turkey – will be served on the 30th of September – hope all my family and friends have time or else I will scream!
  2. Set up my artificial Christmas tree and decorate it on the coming weekend – Don’t want to get left behind now and maybe buy a bit of artificial snow to give the whole thing the right touch.
  3. Decorate my house – inside & out – then I’ll be the first on my block and am ready for what’s to come… I love Christmas in September!!
  4. Get those Christmas CD’S out – I need the right music now to because it’s a tad too warm outside at the moment.
  5. I am ready for Christmas and it can come now ….. I am relieved that I could manage all this and now I am not stressed!!

So, then by the time the real Christmas comes I can then put all that stuff away in the attic and get out my Easter bunny decorations , and so this way I am always on the ball , and am keeping abreast of the latest seasonal retail items that I’ll find in the grocery store or someplace else.  Wow, I think this will be a turning point in my life this year, because now I know what to do.

We need to take time to enjoy each season as it comes and not get carried away on the retail bandwagon of trying to convince us that we need Christmas food and such now.
