Not What I Wanted

The same old thing again but it seems to be getting more popular through the years… returning the presents that you don’t like or don’t fit you and so with the “not what I wanted” everyone hopes to find what they want. What is the success rate of finding what you want???

Why don’t people communicate with each other before for the big day to find out exactly what the other person wishes for or what size do they wear and maybe this would avoid all the post-Christmas stress of returning the things that weren’t wanted?

In the paper and on TV I have seen and read that thousands of people around the globe are waiting endlessly in line to return their “not want I wanted’s”…. Oh the perils of giving presents!!! It seems these perils are getting more and more as society and the global world are linked closer together, and to make a person happy with the right present is harder and harder because the recipient goes online to see if there is something better than what they just received…..

When I think back we never had those choices and sure you could return the “not what I wanted”, but somehow we seemed more satisfied with what we received and not comparing quality, price and function right after unwrapping the present.

Have we lost track of being thankful that some dear person thought of us and took the time to buy or make and wrap that present, only to hear someone say to them…That’s not what I wanted!!!

A very sad feeling indeed for the person giving the present, knowing that what they picked out or made is totally wrong….. The modern form of communication at its best!

I have been lucky this year not to have received any “not what I wanted’s” and so I hope you have received some presents too that are what you wanted!

Christmas Countdown

Time is running out and it’s „ Christmas Countdown „now to do the last bit of running around for whatever it is you need for that big event day of the year 25th December … HELP!!!

My, how much emphasis is placed on a few hours and all that preparing, shopping and planning and so forth. If I was only paid for all the time I spent planning, shopping and cooking I would be a multimillionaire by now…

Please Santa: Where’s my pay check for all the work I have done throughout the years… This wish is at the top of my wish list this year and if it could only be fulfilled … Santa; please I have been good all year!! Though I doubt very much that my wish will come true so, I will settle for the recognition and thanks from everyone.

Got sidetracked with Santa there.. Sorry

Now it’s a race to fight the crowds and find that last minute present or anything that is leftover in the stores and buy the rest of the groceries… I’m starting to sweat just thinking about all that running around.. Great way to burn calories as long as I don’t stop to eat or drink anything.. More room for the Christmas bird than!!! I’m getting hungry just thinking about all that food that I still need to buy.

Plus, why did they plan Christmas on a Wednesday this year?? I need to have a word with those calendar producers about which day Christmas should be on. I always thought Santa had some influence on which day Christmas fell on, but I guess with modern times he is losing his influence too.

When I saw everyone running around yesterday looking for that perfect present they did not have a smile on their face or look cheery.. No sir they simply looked stress out!!!

Christmas countdown: it’s all about rush, rush and rush, but I want some time not too rush around and so my countdown to Christmas has started , and if I have forgotten something for that great day… Well, sorry because I don’t want to rush. I want to enjoy life too!

Enjoy your Christmas countdown whatever you decide to do!!

I Have To Ask My Bra Today…..

The world is changing and isn’t as I imagined it might be and now there’s some mention of a bra that sends signals to prevent me from eating chocolate or other such great stuff when I am feeling a tad stressed…. Where’s all the fun in life going …. Cheers!!

I do not what to wear a bra with some electronic equipment built into it and it senses that “oh dear… my wearer seems to be getting in a tizzy.” Now bra send a signal to the wearer warning her that she should under no circumstances get the idea to eat chocolate or junk food…. Party pooper!!

What do I do now?? I can’t let my bra get the best of me and control my life. I am in charge here and not my bra!! Plus what would happen if I ignored those signals and went to the store and bought myself 2 candy bars and ate them both…. Anyone know the answer? I sure don’t!! But I would feel better after eating the chocolate and who cares what my bra thinks!!

I am sure there is some scientific nonsense behind the system but I wonder how do you wash such bras in the washing machine and are the bras nice looking or are they so ugly looking that if you were seen in your bra the guy looking at you would get a heart attack because the bra is so ugly.. Or what sort of signal does the bra send off when you’re feeling in the mood?? Will the bra blow a fuse and short circuit? I don’t want to get electrocuted by my own bra just because I am in the mood… The dangers of wearing a bra seem to be lurking everywhere!

A further thought about these bras is are they guaranteed, because I am sure they would cost more than $10.00 and I wouldn’t want to buy one and after a short time the electronic system breaks down… Then what?? How will I know when I need my chocolate bar, because the signal isn’t being sent from my bra? Plus how heavy are those bras and are they figure shaped and not with ugly bulges appearing where they shouldn’t be.

There I am out with friends and we are sitting in a bar and a guy comes over and says to me.. “Ah I can see you are wearing one of those sensor bras, because of the way you look there”. Now what would my bra tell me… Punch the guy or remain cool??? Could the bra answer that question based on its sensors??? I want facts here no BS

A really scary thought is what happens if the batteries are running low and you can’t recharge them or are there bra recharger stations in the ladies rooms that you can use to recharge your bra for only $1.50 a minute…. I feel saved now; I wouldn’t want to be out and about and then be told by the sensors in my bra that the batteries are losing their charge… I could scream!!!

Though I will try to manage my life as I have been for the last….. years; just wearing normal bras without sensors and using my brain to tell me whether or not I should eat some chocolate or not.

Gals enjoy your life & chocolate bar(s) because we only live once!

What’s Cooking?

What’s cooking for the meal for that big day can be a tremendous feat if you are not organized to the last second or at least I think so???? Everyone seems to be running around trying to get those last minute things for their Christmas meal or the last minute present because they forgot someone on their list. Well, those things can happen….. I am saved from this dilemma this year because I am for ONCE in my life organized and believe me I find it hard to believe myself but it is true!!!

My guy asked me this morning if I was feeling ok, because I am soooooo organized this year. I told him that I thought for once in my life I want to be organized and have time for everybody on the 25th instead of spending all my time running around doing something. I want a relaxed Christmas and so I will have it!!!! No questions asked here- that is my decision!!!

My tree is decorated and the food is purchased and all my presents are bought; so Christmas you can come to our house. Who says life has to be stressful at this time of year??? Ok, I know thousands of people around the world would argue this point with me, but with a little foresight and planning there is no stress and hey if something goes wrong on the 25th then it goes wrong. I am too old to worry about what everyone thinks of how I do things around my place and if something burns on the stove top then it can be either forgotten or I’ll make something else to replace it… life can be so simple!

My mom was amazing when it came to organizing our Christmas dinner on the 25th and she always remained cool and served up a super meal in my eyes! Mom – thanks for all those great turkey dinners you made us. I know I can cook pretty good but my mom’s Christmas dinner can still top mine. Plus, I’ve never been as organized as she was and thought this year I’ll try her strategy and see if it works….. Please let it work and I’ll be the happiest person on earth

Another thing, I read all those articles about how stressed folks are or will be on the 25th. I always wonder are people stressed so then they have something to talk about or what is it??? Even when I am not organized I don’t feel stressed-out. I think society puts too much emphasis on stress and so everyone is convinced that on the 25th you have to be stressed instead of taking things as they come and enjoying life for a change.

So, relax and take things as they come because then there won’t be any stress and enjoy the day when it’s there!

Men and skin problems

While reading the Sunday newspaper I came across a frightening article about men’s skin and stress. I knew right way from the headline that this is a must read and so took that section of the paper into my private library to read because this article required my full attention and I didn’t want to miss out on any important information.

The article mentioned that men’s skin can have very stressful days and this leaves it mark on men’s skin. This I must say got me really thinking about my partner’s skin and I started to worry about him. I hope he is ok? And the article went on to say that with a special treatment and naturally the right skin creams these signs would disappear and that the man would have vibrant looking skin. I asked myself “ What does vibrant looking skin look like when a guy is older?” Can anyone answer this question for me?

After I finished reading the article my partner asked me where was I for sooo long? I answered by saying” I was reading a very interesting article about men’s skin” and my partner just looked at me as if to say: “typical woman!”

I think guys just don’t understand how serious this problem is and if it isn’t taken care of it could spread like a bush fire and be out of control and then who knows what they would look like then. The thought of waking up in the morning next to a guy who hasn’t taken the necessary steps to prevent stressed-out skin would probably give me a heart attack. I mean just image gals you are asleep and the alarm clock rings and you roll over to face your partner and what happens -> dried out stressed skin looks you directly in the face. I could cringe at the thought!!!!

Normally on Sunday’s my partner takes a afternoon nap on the couch and I thought this is my chance to really check out his skin. I knew we owned a magnify glass but just had to find it. After about 30 minutes I found it hidden under some junk in the junk drawer (you know we all have one of these where you put stuff that you may use once every 10 years.)

Anyways, once I found it I noticed he was sound asleep, so now was my chance. Since he was lying on his back it made things easier for me. I took the magnifying glass and started to carefully look at his skin and was shocked at what I saw! I couldn’t believe my eyes-> there written on his face in tiny letters were the words: “stressed-out skin” and this was written all over his face and then I thought should I wake him up or let him sleep? I was really scared now!
But somehow he must of sensed that I was there and woke up and gave me a dirty looked and ask: “What are you doing with the magnify glass?” I answered by saying: “ I was looking at your skin to see if it is stressed –out” and I told him what I found written on his face.

He then said to me “don’t you have anything better to do with your time?” I thought this is something really important and he thinks that I am wasting time. Typical guy I thought!
After he cooled off I explained to him what I found and then I caught him later on in the evening checking himself out with the magnify glass in the bathroom. He came out pale faced and said to me that I was right. He then and there decided that he must buy some cream tomorrow and go to a spa for a facial because if he didn’t his skin would look stressed-out.

I hope he will manage through the day tomorrow with the stressed-out skin not that it affects his working performance because he has an important meeting with some other people. But then again if it is a group of male business men then maybe they could exchange tips on how to keep their skin looking good -> now this would be a good reason for them all to meet-up again next week too and make a presentation about how they tackle this problem using pie charts and diagrams.

So men please remember don’t forget to take care of your skin because stressed-out skin my lead to a stressed-out life.
