Bling Bling Bling…

As you can imagine the title speaks for itself. As I was just reading there is someone in the world who decorated their house with lots of bling bling, and what impressed me the most was the guest bathroom, WC or whatever you want to call that room.

It is a room where glitter and sparkle would over whelm you and just imagine yourself sitting there on the throne with all that sparkle around you.. The rush of bling would shoot through your system and leave you speechless with bling…And not only that you have a bling bling luxury toilet paper roll holder, bringing the ultimate feeling of luxury by spotlighting your toilet paper too, which is a “Statement item nowadays!”

And in our new modern world where we are all at home more often, I can understand that eking urge to bling things up a bit and where is the best place to start???? Bingo you guessed it the WC!!

As you can imagine, as a gal I left my computer and rushed right into my WC to imagine what this room would look like if I blinged it up a bit… It was a bit hard to imaging but after contemplating a couple of minutes I had the idea…

Plus, as you all know it is proven fact that lots of business people make calls from that private room, so hey why not spiff-up my WC and turn it into my new conference room for those all-important private business calls to my associates when I need a bit of peace and quiet.

This would be no easy matter either. I checked out a couple of stores selling bling, bling things and accessories and they had just what I was looking for too. Blingy with a touch of kitsch and the look of ( I don’t know the words to describe it…sorry), but for the conference calls it would be a hit and the other person would be in for a big surprise to say the least. And I even found a stand that I can setup for the video call too, that had the touch that would be needed to impress.

My bling bling project seemed to be costing more than I thought, but hey a gal needs a WC that cry’s out “Here is bling and me!”… OMG!

So, I did it and once finished I needed sunglasses to enter the WC when the light was on. I never thought about all that sparkling bling bling and the effect that it would have on things, but it was blingy to say the least!!!!

But the conference call was a hit it with the other gals participating in the call and there were some party poopers too, who were totally put off by all the bling, but who cares is my moto!!!

And where was everyone else sitting during this conference call????? Yes, in their WC to have some peace and quiet from the commotion going on around them…

So, think about it…. How should my WC be decorated for the next time you have that all important call to make from your private office…The WC????

Past-Thanksgiving Memories

As a kid I never really appreciated how much time and work my mom put into making our Thanksgiving dinner.

She started a couple of days before with preparing for that day… And she was never stressed out or upset, she just got on with it and cooked-up a fantastic meal in my eyes! Thanks mom

There on Thanksgiving morning mom would disappear into the kitchen for hours preparing the meal and the smell of the turkey baking in the oven was indescribable. I was not allowed in the kitchen when she was cooking as she put it “It’s too dangerous” … What was dangerous, I have no idea. I think it was to keep me out of the kitchen, so that I would not nag her or ask questions like “When can we eat?” Though to go outside, I had to walk through the kitchen, which on Thanksgiving day was more than once, because I needed to check the temperature out side or go out with the dog.. Any excuse to ask my mom “When will dinner be served?” And hope that she would give me something

Looking back, I think after about the tenth time of taking the dog out my mom had enough of the questioning and said that I did not need to take the dog out again. The dog loved walking through the kitchen too, with the hopefulness that something would fall from the counter into his mouth.. No such luck!!

Then came the highlight of the day… Dinner was served, and dad would carve the turkey and we would all enjoy the meal that my mom had spent hours/ days preparing, and now in about 60 minutes ( not too sure about the time span) it was over ,and all we had left was some leftovers for another meal.

On Thanksgiving my mom seemed to spend the whole time in the kitchen besides when she ate with us. Looking back, she worked really hard and was alone in the kitchen there working away, and I wonder today if she really knew how much we appreciated what she had cooked for us and the time she invested for that day, too ????

One thing is for sure, it may have gone unnoticed then, but it was never forgotten!

Forgotten people – the frontline workers in Hospitals

Since this Covid-19 pandemic started there was a time when everyone was cheering for frontline workers and saying how wonderful those people are and people were hanging out their windows evenings cheering for those frontline people.

Now that the year is slowly coming to an end and the pandemic is still around effecting millions of people around the world, and I do not hear anymore news about people thanking those frontline people.

It seems like everyone is just taking the frontline workers now as if nothing ever happened and the frontliner’s are there to do their job.

They are the people who see people suffering everyday and are trying to help others, but now the clapping and cheering is over and people are more worried about how can I buy my toilet paper or get a coffee to go.

Sure, the economy is in a shambles and people need work to earn a living to buy things, but the human side of things is fading away. People should still be thankful for those on the frontline who are working around the clock to help people get back on their feet and get back home.

A big “Thank you” should be said for those people out there who help others everyday in a hospital!

A Hug

A hug is a simple thing that we have taken for granted in our lives, and now our hug is gone out of our lives.

Many people I know, whether it be family, friends, or people I work with, they all say they miss hugging or being hugged and that before the Covid-19 pandemic they never thought about how much they actually hugged others, or were hugged themselves in their lives.

Now in our new world with so many things that have changed including hugging, which is such a simple thing in life and does not cost anything is now missed so much. Maybe through these trying times people can learn to appreciate the simple things in life which took place once among family and friends.

Many have told me standing next to a loved one and not hugging them is very trying and makes them want to cry. Has anyone really thought about what hugging means to people and the psychological impact it has on many peoples lives?????

Why can’t I hug someone when we both have a mask on?

They say that when we are too close to others that we all should wear a mask to stop the spread of Covid-19 (Like they did 100’s of years ago when there was an outbreak of the Spanish Flu,; people wore masks.) Or I have seen some very ingenious ideas online how people managed to hug elderly loved ones without compromising them (I must say some were really good too!). And I am sure those giving and receiving the hug enjoyed every moment of it.

I too miss hugging family and friends but at the same time I feel no one really every broaches the subject “Hugging” … There is only the mental health aspect and somehow “Hugging” is shoved in there without being mentioned.

Missing being hugged does not mean a person has a problem; it’s more like they miss a simple fact of life and its role and impact on us as humans.

I would love to hear from people telling me about their “hugging” issues and how they are coping and be allowed to post it on my blog here for others to read about and give others support , in these trying times of Covid-19 and social distancing.

what to do at my desk????

There you have it, the question of all questions……sitting at your desk and not knowing what to do or better to say there is nothing to do….. except look out the window, rearrange what’s on your desk look at what you rearranged and maybe put the things back to where they were before…… OMG
I am at perils with myself as to what to do at the moment ….nothing to do but to try to look busy when I’m not busy…… please tell me how to look busy when I am not busy…..I need answers….
How many of you out there feel the same way I do….what to do next?????
Here I am glued to my office chair unable to move just staring out the window and watch the world go by…. time is ticking so slowly……tick, tick, tick…….
Let time tick on the sun is setting and the day is coming to an end ….so everyone out there with nothing to do….let’s all try to look busy and our day will go faster !
Have fun at your desk with whatever you are doing!

What’s new in the office or not????

Just the other day I was talking to a friend of mine who attended a seminar about organizing your priorities in the office better and managing yourself…… “WOW”… I thought and thought I probably had missed something really new and innovative, because that is the utmost importance to be innovative and full of new ideas and systems to create the modern working office… or so is said.

Well, as you can imagine, my friend started to tell me all about these exciting new ideas, and I was mesmerized by the ideas, especially the one on using those sticky bright reminder stickers.. you know those sticker things that come in various colors, sizes and shapes that you can stick just about everywhere….

Those sticky little things are supposed to be the newest craze for organizing my projects and other things in my day or week….. Just hearing that I almost fell off my chair, because I have been using those sticky things for years, but apparently this is new and I didn’t know it!!!

Though the conversation about those sticky little things did get me curious about how are they used nowadays…. Answer…. The same as years ago… I was somewhat disappointed to hear that. Though I asked my friend did they discuss and analyses what do you do when the sticky back bit isn’t sticky anymore…. As you can image they left that bit out and seems to me if I was there at the seminar; I would have been highly disappointed not to learn what to do if those things lose their stickiness.

Just image there you are in your office organizing the next few days on a project and want to move around those sticky things and then all of a sudden a couple of them have fallen on the floor because the adhesive on the back is worn-out… is my project ruined or can I take a few new one’s of those things??? I mean really there at my feet are the most import colors of my project and the only ones left sticking are the other ones that aren’t really significant…. OMG!!!

Plus, will anyone on my team notice that I replaced the old sticky ones with new one’s…. This could put the project on hold until we have a meeting to decide: what is the next step to take with those sticky things, and as you all know…Time is money at work!

And to be honest… I really need to look into this because I have a project on the go and there are those sticky things stuck on the paper so that you notice certain things… Firstly, tomorrow morning I will have a meeting and discuss this all important issue and maybe we will need a few more of those sticky things to point out the important fact that those sticky things are still important and still modern….

Enjoy your days at the office and remember those sticky little things are in again!

Deodorants

This is probably a product that lots of people buy, but have you ever thought about what was written about the product and how it is going to give you a whole new experience in life….. Deodorant here I come!!!

I recently started reading the ads for deodorants and what the companies wrote about the product promising me an earth moving experience if I buy their product….. The question is “ What to buy”??….. Right??????

There is the product that promise no white residue, so that I can wear dark clothing fearlessly….. I never was in fear before when I wore dark clothes and I used a different brand of deodorant ……. Ohha…. Trouble is probably brewing and tomorrow should I decide to wear something dark colored to work, then for sure I could see something on the inside of the garment that I will be wearing. But does anyone see that besides me???? At least no one up to now has said anything to me about “white residue” and I have never worried about it before…. Time to start worrying (I guess)

Plus, the thought of getting caught for a day or two away from home…. Now that gives me a real feeling of protection though from what I am not too sure, but with the advanced technology one defiantly has nothing to fear. Somehow I have never seen technology in my deodorant; okay maybe in the research sure, but in the little container… never!!!
What does “technology” look like in a deodorant stick or spray??? Anyone out there know?????

Then there is the one that is an essential component for the handbag …. What is that, a spare part for my car or what??? And it will help me when I am on the run, so that I won’t asphyxiate everyone around me , because I forgot to apply this product at 10 minute intervals throughout my working day… Keep your distance; I may have body odor.

Everything is also made to keep me dry and smelling great for days…. What happened to washing / showing yourself daily and wearing clean clothes…. Again I am missing something. I was brought-up that you showered daily and put on clean clothes and undergarments.

Somehow that 48 hour bit seems a bit scary to me, but then again technology is in the product and that is what counts!

Wonderful Weekdays

Week days come and go but isn’t each day a special day in the week and not just a name? Well, I think so. Even if you didn’t ask me.

Days come and go the same as weeks and years. A week has just about ended and we are almost at the end of the second month in 2015…. But what about those days of the week that come and go and we only remember that it was one of those days…. Or was it a special day??? It could have been but no one noticed it. There seems to be a day for everything thing nowadays and I just can’t seem to keep up with them all… I have a good memory (My brain is still working….. Thank goodness!! I was getting a bit worried) But do I really need to know all those days???

Years ago there weren’t so many just the usual ones and that was it. Normally for some famous person or such. Now there is the coffee day, dog day, and so forth… My list could be from my house and probably span around the globe if I looked up what each day stood for…. To be honest I won’t; I’ll leave that job for someone else to do. Thank you, and when you are finished please let me know the exact number.

I have taken this issue to another dimension because the thought started the other day while I was at the office and contemplating …. I love to do that (but don’t tell anyone!!). There are seven days in the week, maybe there should be more, but I am happy with seven. If you want more days please do not complain to me about it because it isn’t my department….. Go to the – I need more days department where whoever is in charge may be able to help you. Though I do have my doubts about that!!!

Days could be like this:

Serious Saturdays – I mean really I am always serious on this day, no monkeying around just serious housework (that I dislike doing…. And maybe some of you out there too feel the same way I do???)This is a job that has to be tackled with the seriousness of being well organized and scheduled. Which means do not bother me until my multi-organized household chore schedule has been completed…. How quick I am depends on who phones first and where should we meet-up for a cup of coffee…. Plus, what do I want to clean today??? Always a somewhat moving question that boggles my brain each time I ask myself that question…. Though sometimes, I do have to be careful that I don’t argue with myself about what I should do first. The problems of serious Saturdays.

Sentimental Sundays – Sundays seem to be a great day to be sentimental; you can sit back and take it easy and reminisce about all sorts of things and dream about the good’ol days or something else that occupies your mind and just let your thoughts wander to all those pleasant times that took place in your life. A must in my book… we need some pleasantries in our life and not always worries, so maybe being sentimental could help. There are so many pleasant things that have happened in my life and they are great to think about and always bring a smile to my face…

Mellow Mondays – Oh, the beginning of the week again and I have to go to the office… Mondays are a day where thoughts should be collected, strategies may be planned and so forth… being concentrated and mellow makes it so much easier to deal with all that stuff instead of panicking because it is Monday. Mondays have been around for years and will be, so why not take the day in stride instead of dreading it????

Tension on Tuesdays – The week is here and now I really need to start working… getting those emails answered, writing that report… the deadline is approaching and I still have to attend a meeting… that does put a bit of tension in the day, but hey it is Tuesday and it is a day when tension is in the air.

Working Wednesdays – This is a day that one should be the most productive… At least that is what I read once. Though to be honest I am a bit skeptical about that theory. I work on all the other days too. I know there are the scales to assess how much you have achieved and how productive a person is…. Actually, I recently tried the email theory… only answer emails once every 3 or 4 hours….. Well, believe me if you want stress in your life do that!!!!! Those folks who sent me emails wanted answers and not wait half a day for a reply…. Sorry, but that theory does not work in my job!!

Tempting Thursdays – Now Thursdays are actually the day to prepare for the weekend, because everywhere you can read about what is going on where you live, etc…. That alone always makes me start thinking about what should I do on the weekend??? It can be so tempting…. Shopping (a gals favorite pastime), a movie, meet friends, or watch TV…. I have to decide today before it is too late and all the options to do something are not there anymore tomorrow…… Look out world … I am going to plan something for the weekend !!!!!

Frustrating Fridays – A day of deadlines and I hope that everyone else in the office has met the deadline too, or else S… will hit the fan and I do not want to be party to that event! I know some people enjoy that sort of thing but not me…. It seems like lots of people are frustrated on Fridays not only because of work… I believe it is a lack of planning that they could have done on Temping Thursdays that would have avoided the frustration on Fridays.

Whatever day it is make the best of it and enjoy it!

Crossword Puzzle…

Did you know that the good ‘ol crossword puzzle is a 100 years old or at least that’s what I read. Has it been around that long???

I can remember my gran always doing those in the newspaper or those books that you could buy filled with those puzzles and she would sit there for hours or at least it seemed like it and she would do those puzzles. Whether she had the right word or not I’ll never know. Then my mom started doing them when she was bored… a great time killer back then before the internet , and it seems that people are still doing them, maybe it’s something that will last forever and not get lost in the hordes of game apps.

Crossword puzzles are fun and it always makes me think and try to find out which word belongs in the space and then connect it with the other words… Guessing at its finest!! Sometimes I haven’t the faintest idea what word they are looking for, but I keep on trying… my brain needs to know more words!!!!

It is unbelievable how many words you can store in your brain and remember how to spell them correctly too.. Somewhat of a challenge but again I’d don’t use a spelling app… good’ol memory at work!!! Just amazing if you ask me.

Those folks who make-up those crossword puzzles must take a lot of time to make them and how many people are making them??? That I would like to know… Any answers out there?? Plus, crosswords are in so many different languages too.. WOW!!! And how long do they spend on making each crossword puzzle, because some are easy and others are very difficult. Or is everything computerized today and the newspaper folks just press a few keys and a crossword puzzle is created with the crossword puzzle software??? So many unanswered questions… I need to call my local newspaper for an answer.

That’s enough about crossword puzzles, because I need to do the one in today’s paper now.

Enjoy your crossword puzzle today!

Perfect Day Today?

The perfect day has finally arrived and we can now all enjoy it if you have enough time and don’t work otherwise I don’t think the perfect day would work??? Or am I missing something here….

In the perfect day you only have about 36 minutes for work, so how do I manage a perfect day when I have to work 8-10 hours a day???………The answer is easy; fit this into your day and you will have a perfect day.

So my perfect day in a week would be as follows:

Ok, forget taking a shower and getting dressed after I get-up because that just doesn’t seem to fit into the plan for a perfect day, so I’ll go to work in my pj’s( I guess). Note: the scientist seemed to forget that people normally get cleaned up before they leave the house… Where were their brains???? That question you can answer yourself. Thank you

Well, I do have time for breakfast, say about 15 minutes and then I’m out of here and on my way to work. Another problem there is only 33 minutes a day allotted to commuting. Now what???? I feel my day may not be sooooo perfect now! But I am sure if I leave out something else I will be able to have a perfect day. But all the other stuff in a perfect day is fun too…. I want a perfect day!!!!

Finally at work now I have 48 minutes for my computer, so I’ll have to stretch this out over the day otherwise I may not look busy. So, I think I will make a couple of calls to my friends and so that gives me about 58 minutes divided by 3 and so each for my friends get 19.33 minutes of my time. I better set the timer so I don’t go over 19.33 minutes. I hope my friends won’t get upset??? But then again they want to have a perfect day too….

Now that I have called all my friends I have 78 minutes to relax and think about what I can do the rest of my perfect day. But the sad part now is none of my friends have time to meet-up this afternoon because we could spend a whole 82 minutes together on a normal perfect day. Where’s my perfect day?????????

But I could have a little nap at my desk- I have 46 minutes to shut my eyes. Though with this perfect day I still haven’t done any work and when the boss comes into my office then it will definitely NOT BE A PERFECT DAY!!!

I still haven’t had a perfect day at work, but instead I have gotten some strange looks and asked by my colleagues at work “Why am I still in my pj’s” – I said today is a perfect day and there is no time for getting dressed in a perfect day. I am not sure if my answer satisfied them or they just thought that I had gone bonkers. I would tend to think the latter that I had gone bonkers!

Ah, forget work I’ll just go home and maybe go shopping there I have 58 minutes.. I better be quick or else I won’t be able to fit all my shopping into my perfect day. I am starting to feel tired again but since I used up my nap time earlier I have no more time for relaxing…..I’m starting to feel stressed out… what should I dooooo????

I’ll just go home and putter around the house for 47 minutes and then watch some TV until my guy comes home and then I have 50 minutes to whip us up a great meal. I hope I can manage that job??? Great thing about a perfect day there is no time left for arguing about something. Now that does make for a perfect day.

The highlight of a perfect day is that you have 106 minutes for you partner. Now that’s something or??? What you do in that time is up to you. I know what I would do and timing is of the essences. Don’t want to ruin a perfect day… eh??????

Enjoy your perfect day where ever you are in the world and don’t forget to keep an eye on the clock or else you won’t have that perfect day…. Enjoy yourself!!
