Another year again with Decorations

There you have it… November is here and Christmas decorations are in all the stores again…. But nothing is new, so I decided to take a look at my collection of decorations that seem to have collected themselves through the years… Maybe you know this phenomenon at your house too???

I see all these tips (life hacks) as to how to organize my decorations and sort them out and so forth and the most annoying are the strings of lights that seem to magically tangle themselves throughout the summer months. How this happens is beyond me…. Really baffling when I think about it (maybe better not to think about it..)

Of course, with good intentions I bought all the organizational material needed to sort out my chaos of decorations, but the thought of them not being placed in their beloved box that I bought them in, that is held together with adhesive tape brings tears to my eyes… that carton or better said the box for the glass tree decorations has a history to it and just looking at the faded price sticker reminds me of the day I bought them… How can an organization box with everything crammed neatly into it give me the same feeling???? No, it can’t!!!!

And there before my eyes are the strings of lights, some brightly colored and others only with white bulbs tangled up overnight by themselves, because I know I placed them properly in the box at the end of the Christmas season, plus which string of lights still works or which string has burnt-out bulbs??? A puzzling question indeed!!!
This is a job that needs to be tackled right away before the magic moment of using them in December… Nothing worse than a burnt-out bulb to ruin the look of your Christmas tree or the fact that the whole darn string of bulbs don’t work because one bulb is burnt-out and the lights are already on the tree… I know the lights worked before I hung them on the tree ( I tried them out first and everyone light-up) I am sure you know that problem too????
Then there are the yearly broken decorations in the box…. How that happened is beyond me??? The OMG effect is best in this case is my motto..

When confronted with a broken glass decoration is care of the utmost importance; not because you could cut yourself, but because maybe the decoration has memories attached to it and so depose of it with care when saying good-bye to it… Good bye dear decoration….we had many years of great times together!!!

One more thing are those plastic decorations that are a dime a dozen but do not stand a chance on my tree, because they just don’t have the shine and shimmer that glass decorations can give you on your tree….

But what I really wanted to say is: Sort out your decorations carefully and enjoy the moments when doing it, because there can be great memories attached to some decorations and we seem to forget that in our busy lives…….. Have fun sorting out!!!
